Toni and Michelle reflect on how far they’ve grown and how much they’ve learned in NINE YEARS of making this podcast! From the origin story (that involves Moby!) to the evolution, and the many highs and lows in between, they share what the biggest takeaways have been and how it always comes back to the human experience of kindness, community, and taking small steps in the right direction.

Hi friends,

Here we are. This moment is quite emotional for us and one we announce with heavy hearts, but we know it’s time. This is the LAST episode of Plant-Powered People Podcast!

In this sentimental episode we have a chance to reflect on how we started, what brought us here, and what kept us going. We recount impactful moments that shaped the trajectory and evolution of the podcast. And—maybe most importantly—we reflect on the community that’s been built as a result of this podcast, and how incredibly meaningful and inspiring YOU have been to us.

So to honor that community, whether you’ve been here for one episode or them all (let us know if that’s you!!), we couldn’t think of a better way to close this chapter than to share what we’ve learned over the years. And truly, the biggest ways we’ve grown through this podcast haven’t even been in veganism, eco-friendliness, gardening, or even health.

We’ve grown immensely as humans by sharing with you the human experience, in all its highs and lows. Our listeners have been with us and supportive through marriage and birth, love and loss, grief and joy. So in this episode, we share not just valuable skills we’ve learned as we figured out from the ground up how to produce a podcast.

Moreso, we talk openly and honestly about the big lessons. The real lessons. Kindness. How to be a supportive friend. How to “just start” when you don’t feel prepared. Why progress truly, truly, truly matters more than perfection. Why and where to find (and be!) a community of cheerleaders. Just how important each tiny step is. And truly, just how valuable each individual person is on this journey towards an even more beautiful and kind world.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for every moment you’ve spent with us and on this journey alongside us. Every listen, every click, every comment, every email, every review. Every one of YOU has been part of what made this podcast and our podcast journey so magical.

♡ Toni & Michelle

VEGGIE WASH

We wouldn’t wash our hands without soap, so why are we washing our fruits and veggies with just water? Produce at the grocery store has probably been handled by many people, and sprayed with pesticides, agricultural chemicals, and waxes to delay spoilage at stores. These are designed to be waterproof so they aren’t washed away by rain or irrigation, so they definitely aren’t washed away with water-only sink washes.

That’s why we love Veggie Wash. It’s the original produce wash that’s been around since 1998. It uses vegetable-derived ingredients from citrus, corn, and coconut to remove pesticides, wax, dirt, and even handling residue. It’s vegan and kosher, contains no harsh surfactants, leaves no aftertaste, just gives an easy way you can be sure your produce your family is eating is really clean.

You can find Veggie Wash at stores like WalMart, Whole Foods, Publix and more, or head to veggie-wash.com to find a store near you!
